MICROBLADING

Does it hurt?
I use a topical anaesthetic. This will give you a level of comfort during the treatment.

What can I expect at my appointment?
We will do a full consultation where we will have a look at your lifestyle as well as your medical history to make sure we get the best-healed result. I will then map out your new brows and do a colour consultation, considering all aspects of the skin. You can now have a peek at the brow template for your approval. Using disposable blades, I will start by making shallow hair-like strokes in the skin, working my way through the brow. Halfway through I apply a fast-acting numbing gel to give you more comfort - this is where you may want to drift off! We will do a fill of every stroke as well as a final colour mask before I reveal your beautiful new brows.

SKINPEN®

How does SkinPen® work?

SkinPen® is an incredible microneedling medical device used for the treatment of Fine lines and wrinkles, melasma, surgical scars and acne scars through collagen induction therapy. It is a minimal invasive procedure that works by creating a series of hundreds of microscopic channels into the dermis to stimulate the skin's natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping skin to look and feel healthier. SkinPen® needles cycle at 100+ stamps/second, potentially creating 1600+ microchannels per second when moving the SkinPen®.

The SkinPen® microneedling device causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body's natural wound healing process. This leads to the production of new collagen and elastin, which improves the structure and function of the skin while improving its appearance.

What are the benefits?

  • Reduces the signs of aging; skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles

  • Improves the appearance of acne scarring

  • Safe for all skin types,

  • Effective on all body parts, including face, neck and décolletage

What areas of the skin can be treated?

SkinPen's® variable needle depth allows for maximum versatility, making it safe and effective to use on many parts of the body, including the face, neck and décolletage.

What can I expect during the procedure?

A numbing cream or topical anaesthetic is not needed and the pain level is described as mild and easily tolerated.

We will ask you questions regarding your medical history to determine a treatment plan suitable for you. The treatment typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Depending on the size and number of areas treated as well as the degree of treatment requested by the patient.

How much downtime is required after microneedling?

Most patients have slight swelling and redness (like a mild to moderate sunburn) for two to four days post treatment. Short term dryness, tightness and itching can take place and some people may see their skin return to normal in 24 hours. Each client is different and experiences vary between clients.

How long before I see results?

It may take 3-6 months to see results with SkinPen. The natural healing process within your own skin takes time and results may take this long to appear. Damage that has occurred over an extensive period of time won't disappear immediately. You may not see the final result for up to six months following your final session.

How many treatments are recommended?

Every client varies with regards to their treatment needs, with most skin concerns requiring more than one procedure to achieve results. We will create a treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals. Most clients will need a treatment plan of 6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart.

Are there any contraindications?

Microneedling treatment is contraindicated for patients with: keloid scars, scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities, a hemorrhagic disorder or hemostatic dysfunction, active bacterial or fungal infection.

Are there any precautions and warnings?

Precautions should be taken when determining whether to treat: scars and stretch marks less than one year old; women who are pregnant or nursing; keloid scars; patients with history of eczema, psoriasis and other chronic conditions; patients with history of actinic (solar) keratosis; patients with history of herpes simplex infections; diabetics or patients with wound-healing deficiencies; patients on immunosuppressive therapy; and skin with presence of raised moles or warts or targeted area.

What is the aftercare?

If required post procedure, we will clean the skin and apply a generous amount of SkinFuse Lift HG to the area treated to maintain a moist wound healing environment to support the skin recovery. You will be given aftercare to use on your skin for the next 24-36 hours.
